Sep 17: On September 15th, after the first Eucharistic Mass, the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Immaculate Conception Church, Mulki, presented a compelling street play titled "No More Silence", focusing on the harsh realities of rape and sexual abuse of women.
This impactful performance was introduced by Lavita Dsouza. The cast included heartfelt performances and dance sequences by Sharol Dsouza, Volita Dsilva, Vismy Fernandes, Reeshal Suares, Jenisha Dsouza, Lavisha Dalmeida, Vallen Dalmeida, Leston Fernandes, Jastan Dsouza, Sherwin Rodrigues, Shaun Menezes, and Lloyd Rodrigues. The audience was visibly moved, with many shedding tears in response to the heart-wrenching portrayal of the victim and the message of resilience. Special recognition was given to Sharol Dsouza, whose soul-touching performance as the victim left a lasting impact on the viewers.
The script, direction, and choreography were brilliantly executed by Volita Dsilva, supported by ICYM animator Rashmi Rebello, who played an essential role in guiding the team. The emotional depth and authenticity of the performance resonated with the audience, who expressed their appreciation through applause and praise.
The event concluded with the performers raising placards that conveyed strong messages of empowerment, solidarity, and justice, leaving a profound impression on the parish community.
