Sep 18 : On the occasion of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary, ICYM St. Matthew Deanery Moodbidri along with Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Deanery, Rotaract Club - Moodbidri, Rotary Club - Moodbidri, Rotary Club of Moodbidri Mid Town, Rotary Club of Moodbidri Temple Town, Lions Club - Moodbidri, Lions Club - Alangar, Yuva Konkans Association - Dakshina Kannada, Inner Wheel Club -Moodbidri, JCI Moodbidri Tribhuvan celebrated “Sarvadharmiyarondige Thene Habba” on 14th September 2024 at Samaj Mandir Moodbidri.

The program commenced with a prayer service led by ICYM Moodbidri Deanery executive members. Mr. Javin Dsouza, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery President, extended a warm welcome. V. Rev. Fr. Onil D’Souza, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Director, presided over and inaugurated the program along with Chief Guest Mr. Ganesh Kamath.

Other dignitaries included: Mr. Winston Joel Sequeira, ICYM Mangalore Diocese President ; Mr. Alwyn D'souza, Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Deanery President; Rtr. Mohd Asif, Rotaract Club Moodbidri President ; Rtn. Raviprasad Upadhaya, Rotary Club Moodbidri President; Rtn. Poornachandra Jain, Rotary Club of Moodbidri Temple Town President; Rtn.Videsh M, Rotary Club of Moodbidri Mid Town President; Ann. Bindiya Sharath D Shetty, Inner Wheel Club Moodbidri President; Mr. Pradeep Kumar, JCI Thribhuvan Moodbidri President; Ln. Bonaventure Menezes, Lions Club Moodbidri President; Ln. Jacintha Dmello, Lions Club Alangar President and Mr. Selwin Jude Colaco, Yuva Konkan Association Secretary.

Following the inauguration, Mr. Ganesh Kamath addressed the gathering, commending the harmony among different faiths and emphasizing our shared connection with our surroundings.

Organizers extended their warmest felicitations to Mr. Sandesh PG, Moodbidri Circle Inspector, on receiving the esteemed Chief Minister's Gold Medal for his service in the police department.

V. Rev. Fr Onil D’Souza, in his presidential speech congratulated all the organizers for organizing this programme and elaborated on the traditional significance of the Nativity feast. Subsequently, V. Rev. Fr. Onil D’Souza blessed the newly harvested corn by mixing it with milk, imparting a sacred touch to the occasion.

Ms. Reena Anjali Crasta - Treasurer of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Moodbidri Deanery Representative was also present during the program. Ms. Steffi Miranda, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Joint Secretary, rendered a vote of thanks. The program featured cultural dances by ICYM Moodbidri Unit and ICYM Sampige Unit, compered by Mr. Vijoy Cardoza.

Approximately 160 attendees enjoyed a traditional and lavish dinner prepared by ICYM units of Moodbidri Deanery.
