June 26 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Diocese of Mangalore held Office Bearers Training Program (P.S.T.A.R.) on 25th June 2023, at St Agnes College Mangalore.

Rev Sr Dr Venessa AC Principal St Agnes College was the chief guest of the programme. Dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Rev Fr Anil Dsa SDB, Director Yuva Spandana Bangalore, Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza ,Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Mr Anil John Sequiera President, Nishal Preemal Dsouza, General Secretary were present on the dais.

The chief guest inspired the youth to become good leaders in society with their potential and goodwill. Anil John Sequeira - President welcomed the gathering, Nishal Preemal Dsouza - Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. Council members evoked God's blessings through a prayer song. Joel Lancy – Amcho Yuvak Representative compered the programme.

After the inaugural programme Fr Anil Dsa conducted a session on leadership skills. All the youth actively participated in the session. Mr Keith Lobo, the Managing Director of Lykora Consulting Services was the resource person for the Leaders Training programme. He spoke about the launch pad and encouraged youth to start up their own businesses. He explained different models of business including new models, structures, locations to set up the business, funding etc. He inspired youth to become entrepreneurs as the world may face the problem of unemployment in the coming days due to different circumstances.

All the youth participated in the Holy Eucharistic celebration. Rev Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator of Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, Hospital and Pharmaceutical Division Deralakatte was the main celebrant accompanied by Fr Ashwin Cardoza and Fr Anil Dsa.

In the afternoon youths were given training by the DEXCO office bearers as well as different resource persons. Anil Sequeira for Presidents, Nishal Preemal Dsouza and Mr Vincent Mascarenhas for Secretaries, Joel Lancy, Philomena Fernandes and Vincent Mascarenhas for Amcho Yuvak and Media Representatives, Brendon Cutinha and Sushanth Fernandes for Red Drop Representatives, Frayal Cross for Treasures and Fr Anil Dsa for Animators. DEXCO, Central Council and other 350 enthusiastic youth leaders, animators and coordinators of Youth Commission actively participated in the training programme.
