Feb 13 : The ICYM unit of Ashoknagar organized an Interward Cricket Match at St Dominic's Church Ground. The event kicked off at 9:30 am with a formal program hosted by Ms. Jean Lobo , featuring esteemed dignitaries on the dias: Assistant Parish Priest Fr.Meckenzie Mendonsa, Parish Council President Mr. Maxim Crasta, Secretary Deborah Locker, Mrs. Meera Mendonca, ICYM Animator Mr.Nixon Crasta & Mrs. Ashwitha Frank ,President Mr. Loyston Dsouza, and Sports Secretary Mr. Vion Dsouza.

The formal program commenced by Addressing the gathering, Fr.Meckenzie Mendonsa and Mr. Maxim Crasta shared their thoughts and encouragement.

An exciting inauguration ceremony, led by honored guests marked the beginning of the cricket extravaganza. A total of 11 teams participated, including 10 wards and 1 religious team. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as each ward showcased their cricket prowess, adding to the joyous spirit of the event.

The umpires for the event, Mr. Nishil and Mr. Preethesh ensured fair play and upheld the spirit of the game throughout the matches.

The valedictory program commenced at 6:00 PM with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sports Secretary Vion Dsouza, who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers, sponsors, and dignitaries for their contributions to the success of the event. The dais was graced by esteemed guests, including Fr. Daniel Veigas, Fr. Meckenzie Mendonsa, Mr. Maxim Crasta, Mrs. Deborah Locker, Mrs. Meera Mendonca, Mr. Loyston Dsouza, and Mr. Vion Dsouza.

Following the vote of thanks, Mr. Nixon Crasta announced the results,
declaring Dominic B Ward as the champions,
Shediguri B as the runners-up,
and Shediguri A securing the third position.
To acknowledge the spirited participation of all wards, participation prizes were awarded.
Additionally, individual achievements were recognized,
The best female bowler was Anvita from Shediguri B.
The best male bowler was Melroy from Dominic B.
The best female batter was Sister Roja from the religious team.
The best male batter was Gravil from Shediguri A.
The man of the series was Aaron from Shediguri B.
The woman of the series was Viola from Dominic B.
