Dec 31 : The tradition of the Christmas crib, also known as the nativity scene, dates back to the early 13th century. It was popularized by St. Francis of Assisi, who created the first live nativity scene in 1223 to help people understand the humble birth of Jesus Christ. The scene typically includes figures of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, angels, shepherds, and animals, depicting the event of Christ's birth in Bethlehem.
This year, the ICYM Nirkan has embraced this beautiful tradition by installing a Christmas crib in the St Thomas the Apostle church- Nirkan premises, reminding everyone of the birth of Jesus and fostering a spirit of togetherness during the festive season.
During this activity, the President and Members of the Catholic Sabha, Nirkan, provided their immense support towards its success, while other parishioners also joined hands with ICYM Nirkan to make this wonderful event happen.
