Nov 3 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Omzoor Unit organized “YOUTH SPARKLE- 2021” to all the enthusiastic youths of the parish on Sunday 31st October 2021 at 9.30 am at Holy Family Sabha Bhavan. The youth participated in the eucharistic celebration where a special prayer was done for the youth. The programme commenced with a prayer service led by the ICYM members. 

Rev. Fr. Alwyn Dcunha, Parish Priest and the Director of ICYM Omzoor unit; Rev. Fr. Jerald Lobo, Superior of Monte Mariano Church, Farangipet; Rev. Sr. Cynthia Saldanha, Superior of St. Charles Borromeo Convent; Mr. Jaison Crasta, President of ICYM, Mangalore Diocese; Ms. Viola Lewis, President of ICYM, Bantwal Deanery; Mr. Patrick Pinto, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Committee; Mr. Arthur D’Souza, Conveyor of Parish Pastoral Commissions; Mr. Dexter Saldanha, YCS Animator; Mr. Elroy Saldanha, ICYM Animator; Ms. Jonisha Lobo, President, and Ms. Jenisha Lewis, Secretary of ICYM Omzoor unit were the dignitaries on the dais.

Ms. Jonisha Lobo welcomed the gathering and committee members welcomed the guests florally. Rev. Fr. Alwyn Dcunha inaugurated the programme by bursting the balloons and unveiling the title ‘Youth Sparkle-2021’. Ms. Minol Braggs was felicitated for her selfless service as ICYM Diocesan PRO for the year 2019-21. Rev. Fr. Alwyn Dcunha delivered a valuable speech to the gathering. Mementos were handed over to the guests as a token of gratitude. Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, Director of ICYM, Mangalore Diocese, and diocesan committee paid a visit, and Fr. Ashwin Cardoza addressed the gathering. Ms. Jenisha Lewis proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Ashlin D’Souza compered the inaugural programme.

The formal programme was followed by an ice-breaking session. Ms. Neethal Braggs introduced the resource person. Ms. Shobha Jacintha Dsouza, Asst. Professor in social work dept., Roshni Nilaya was the resource person for the day and conducted a wonderful talk on “Stress Management”. 

Post lunch session was full of group activities, games, and action songs. Prizes were distributed to the winners. Ms. Mashrel Cuitinho received a prize for suggesting the name for this event - "Youth Sparkle". Ms. Jenisha Lewis thanked the gathering. The programme  concluded with baila. Around 110 youth of Omzoor parish were present and witnessed the programme.
