June 18 : ICYM Valencia Unit held its Annual General Body Meeting and Election for the year 2019-2020 on Sunday, 16th June 2019 at 9:00 am. The meeting began with a prayer conducted by Sherwin Menezes. Rev. Fr James Dsouza – Parish Priest, St. Vincent Ferrar Church, Valencia and the Director - ICYM Valencia Unit presided over the meeting along with parish pastoral council Vice-president Mr Anil Lobo and Secretary Mrs Lizzie Pinto.

Sonali Fernandes – Secretary, ICYM Valencia Unit briefed out the ICYM report of the year 2018-2019. Before the Election, Rev. Fr James Dsouza briefed about the unit office bearers post and their responsibilities and conducted the election smoothly.

After the elections, ICYM members along with the parish priest, parish pastoral council vice-president and secretary discussed about the annual agenda of ICYM for the year 2019-2020.

The Annual Agenda for the year 2019-2020 are as follows:

• 29th June 2019 - Inauguration of ICYM Valencia Unit 2019-2020 and oath taking during 5pm mass
• 30th June 2019 - “LAUDATO SI” planting of saplings in the church premises after 8am mass
• 14th July 2019 - “YOU CAT” Seminar
• 21st July 2019 - ICYM and Catholic Sabha Valencia unit to organise Medical check- up camp for the parishioners
• 3rd August 2019 – Celebrating Friendship day, International Youth day and Quinquennial celebration of ICYM Valencia unit
• 15th August 2019 - Independence day celebration and bike rally
• 18th August 2019 - 27th Konkani Day celebration
• 30th August to 8th September 2019 - Volunteering by ICYM members for Monthi Fest
• 20th October 2019 - Cemetery cleaning
• 27th October 2019 - Inter Ward Cricket match to be organised by ICYM
• 16-17th November 2019 - Sangeeth Saanz in the Valencia church open air grounds
• 27- 28th January 2020 - Visit to St Lawrence Shrine Attur, Karkal to be arranged for the parishioners
• 12-14th March 2020 - Prayer and Bhajan to be organised by ICYM Valencia unit for all the parishes within Episcopal City Deanery.

The former office bearers of the year 2018 - 2019 handed over their charge to the new elected office bearers. Jovita Rebello, the newly elected president spoke on the occasion and thanked the parish priest, Mr Anil Lobo, Mrs Lizzie Pinto for supporting ICYM during the years and asked their constant support for the year 2019-20 as well in the future. She also thanked ICYM members for electing her as the new president and asked for their support and co-operation. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks rendered by Sonali Fernandes - Former Secretary.
