The Bishop then addressed the Central Council and appreciated all the initiatives and programmes. He gave the youth a few pointers for the future like :
- We need to build the community, one also needs to encourage youth to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony and inculcate family values.
- Youth needs to be encouraged towards becoming Entrepreneurs and thereby be able to provide employment opportunities to other youth.
- Our youth today should show interest in politics and be good leaders and thereby strive to work for the people of the nation and protect democracy. Each one needs to have a copy of the Indian Constitution in hand for a better outlook on the law.
- Inculcate the habit of reading newspapers, various books especially books related to Catholic faith such as Laudato Si, Querida Amazonia, Church teachings and theology. It is helpful to enhance the knowledge of the youth and will make them better individuals. An attempt should be made that the youth will read the whole bible at least once.
- Learning several languages will also help to increase one’s vocabulary. A better tomorrow can be built only by developing skills. It will enable the youngsters to become good spokespersons. One needs to possess courage and leadership skills.
ICYM is a springboard for leadership, to serve the society and make the community proud. With these words of encouragement and appreciation, the Bishop concluded his message.
